One of the best pieces of advice ever given to me in high school was to apply for one different scholarship every Friday. Now, did my 17 year old self follow through on that advice with fidelity? HECK NO! Lots to say about that which I’ll reserve right now because the point is that as the saying goes, ‘shoot for the moon because even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.’ Even though I didn’t apply to as many scholarships as I should have, the smaller $2,000 scholarship here, $1,000 there, $3,000 there really added up. And, these smaller scholarships always seemed to have less applicants! Of course you don’t get every scholarship you apply for either, which is why the consistency of applying is so important! Although International Women's Day was last month, we want to bring attention back to the fact that our amazing Mortgage Executive, Dr. Daisy Romo, was honored as being a WOW Woman of Arvada.
